Designers for Learning Webcast 31

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]This Designers for Learning webinar was held on July 28, 2015. The purpose of the webcast was to discuss plans for our next service-learning project with those who have expressed interest in participating in the design and / or facilitation of the next iteration of our Designers for Learning service-learning projects that focus on the instructional design of open educational resources (OER) for adult basic education. Click to view session slides.

For the past 18 months, college students in our service-learning cohorts designed OER for the adult education program at Grace Centers of Hope (see our virtual design studio for those projects here http://studio.designersforlearning.org/). Grace Centers of Hope has been an outstanding partner, and has inspired us to expand upon this work to develop a much larger service-learning experience that will incorporate an open course (most likely on the canvas.net platform). Our aim with the expanded project is for service-learners to develop a range of OER for adult education. To that end, we are reaching out to experts in adult education to assemble a panel of volunteer SMEs to help us with the design and facilitation of our expanded project. The goal is to complete the design of the project during this summer and fall for an early 2016 implementation.
