Holly Groder and Kaye Rabel were our guests this week at EdTechTalk.com. Holly and Kaye are graduate students in the Instructional Design and Technology program at Old Dominion University. Both recently completed pro bono projects with clients in a Consulting Skills for Instructional Designers course. They discussed their experiences working with real clients in authentic applied learning projects conducted outside the safe haven of the classroom. Based on their experiences, as well as their perspectives as instructional designers, they contemplated how similar service-learning projects could support students in online or blended courses.
